Posting Bail in Arizona

While not everyone who is arrested will be allowed to post bail or bond, many people are. Once a judge or officer of the court has determined that a bail bond will be allowed, using the services of a professional bail bond agent is often the quickest, easiest and most cost effective way to get your friend of loved one released.

A bail bond agent will charge you a non-refundable premium for his or her services. On average that premium is usually 10% of the total bond amount but may be more, depending upon the type of bond or state where it is to be paid. Immigration bonds typically have a 15% to 20% premium.

In the case of a $10,000 bond and a 10% premium, you will have to pay the bail bond agency $1,000.  If you don’t have the full premium amount available, talk with the agent. In many cases, you can pay with a credit card or arrange to make payments.

There is certain information your bail bond agent will need to know such as name and address of the person to be bailed out, where they are being held, date of the arrest or other identifying information, like an “A” number. It is important to be honest and up front with your bail bond agent.
